Expert Dog Training Services in Kittery, ME and the Seacoast.
Kittery K9 was built around a simple idea that dog training should be understandable, practical, and enjoyable for both dogs and their owners. Our approach is based on years of teaching, hands-on experience, and a belief that owners should leave training with more than a better-behaved dog—they should leave knowing how to continue that progress themselves.
-
At Kittery K9, we believe that you get out of training what you put into it. Successful dog training isn't about spending hours drilling commands or relying on complicated techniques. It's about creating a simple, consistent routine that both you and your dog can understand and maintain.
-
Dog training simple enough to maintain and structured enough to produce results. By connecting training to an existing daily routine, owners have a consistent opportunity to practice. And by teaching owners how to continue the process, training doesn't stop when the class ends. The result is a training routine that is practical, repeatable, and designed for real life.
-
At Kittery K9, our approach is built on decades of hands-on experience working with dogs and, just as importantly, teaching their owners how to communicate with them. Over the years, owner Scott Mace has worked with a wide range of dogs, personalities, and training situations, developing a practical approach designed to make training simple, understandable, and effective.

Experience You Can Trust.
Training That Works.
Great dog training starts with experience—but it doesn’t end there. At Kittery K9, our approach is built on decades of hands-on experience working with dogs and, just as importantly, teaching their owners how to communicate with them and find success.
Kittery K9 is the next chapter in Scott Mace’s lifelong commitment to helping dogs and the people who love them. Over the years, Scott has worked with a wide range of dogs, personalities, and training situations, developing a practical approach designed to make training simple, understandable, and effective.
Scott Mace, Owner & Dog Trainer
Scott brings all of these experiences together at Kittery K9 with one simple goal: to teach owners how to train their dogs with confidence. Experience isn't simply measured in years. It's measured in the dogs you've worked with, the owners you've taught, the challenges you've encountered, and the lessons you've learned along the way. Scott's approach has been shaped by decades of doing exactly that.
Decades of Hands-On Experience
Scott’s journey began with a two-year apprenticeship under an experienced dog-training instructor, where he learned the fundamentals of effective training and the importance of clear communication between dogs and their owners.
He went on to teach group dog-training classes for 10 years at the Kittery Recreation Center, gaining valuable experience helping owners understand not just what to teach their dogs, but how to make training part of everyday life.
Scott also spent 20 years as a volunteer service-dog puppy raiser with a national organization. That experience provided an invaluable opportunity to work with puppies through critical stages of development while reinforcing the importance of consistency, patience, routine, and clear expectations.
Client Reviews
“What we liked most about Kittery K9 was that the training was focused on teaching us, not just our dog. The methods were clear, practical, and easy to continue using between classes.”
